The relationship between Legendary and Warner, conflicting since the change in strategy of Warner and HBO Max, seems to have calmed down, and the promotion of Godzilla vs. Kong has therefore been resuming for a few days. After a few spots and an affix, it is the trailer of the shock of the titans which is dropped in our face.
Godzilla vs. Kong – Official Trailer
The first (at least we imagine) climax of the monster verse of the two producer studios, Godzilla vs. Kong has the daunting task of revitalizing a rapidly declining franchise. After an excellent Godzilla whose editorial has still not recovered, then a Kong: Skull Island frankly failed but with the correct economic score, the average Godzilla II: King of the Monsters was a sacred disappointment at the box office, the fault of a film too talkative and encumbered by one of the heavy human characters and too present. Fortunately, the trailer for the new clash is somewhat reassuring and promises a recalibration with fighting, a lot of fighting, always more fighting (and edgy rap).
We bet that the clash between the saurian and the primate will bring enough spectacle to bring back the fans. Godzilla vs. Kong is directed by Adam Wingard and is (for now) due out in the US on March 26, 2021, in theaters and on HBO Max simultaneously, and on March 17 in France … if theaters are reopened to here there (let us dream). The cast will bring back Millie Bobby Brown and Kyle Chandler and will be completed by new characters played by Alexander Skarsgård and Rebecca Hall.
