Launched in early fall on AppleTV +, the Israeli spy series Tehran will return to the platform, as it has been announced that a season 2 has officially been ordered.
It appears that Tehran’s first season was successful enough for AppleTV + to get more involved in the show. For season 1, the American platform co-produced the series in partnership with the Israeli channel Kan 11. For season 2, Tehran officially becomes an original Apple creation (it will continue to be offered on Kan 11 in its country. ).
If you are unfamiliar with this creation by Moshe Zonder, Dana Eden, and Maor Kohn, Tehran is focusing on the Israeli-Iranian conflict. The story centers on Tamar Rabinyan, a young Jewish woman working for the Mossad who was born in Iran but raised in Israel. Tamar is also a hacker and she is sent on a mission to the Iranian capital to deactivate an Iranian nuclear reactor. Its specific job is to neutralize Iran’s air defenses so that Israeli warplanes can bomb a nuclear power plant and prevent Iran from obtaining an atomic bomb. However, the mission does not go as planned and Tamar must do everything to save her life.
The Tehran cast brings together Niv Sultan, Shaun Toub, Navid Negahban, Shervin Alenabi, Liraz Charhi, and Menashe Noy.
