Broadcast at the beginning of the year in France and England, the British series The Bay will continue beyond its season 2. It has indeed just been renewed by ITV for a season 3, but there will be a change notable in the casting.
Thus, the series scripted by Daragh Carville – and Furquan Akhtar in season 3 – will continue without Morven Christie. She starred in the first two seasons of The Bay as Police Inspector Lisa Armstrong but decided to quit the show. She will be replaced by Marsha Thomason (Cobra, White Collar).
In Season 3, Thomason will be DS Jenn Townsend and, on her first day on the job, she will be directly immersed in a sensitive case after a body is found in the bay. The victim was an up-and-coming young boxer and Townsend will have to find a way to deal with his complicated family in order to get to the truth. On top of that, she must find a place for herself in the community of Morecambe and overcome the challenges facing her own blended family.
