Like many other series, The Handmaid’s Tale has seen filming cut short due to COVID-19, and its return to the small screen postponed. The wait is soon over, with Hulu announcing the launch of Season 4 for Wednesday, April 28 via a teaser (with three episodes uploading as usual).
A free adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s novel which also gave birth to a sequel called The Testaments, The Handmaid’s Tale takes place in a dystopian future where religion dominates politics in a totalitarian regime where women are enslaved. The story follows June (Elisabeth Moss), a handmaid dressed in loose scarlet robes whose role in human reproduction.
In season 4 comprising 10 episodes, June rebels against Gilead by assuming her role as a rebel leader but risks her taking place in the face of unexpected and dangerous challenges. Her quest for justice and revenge threatens to consume her and destroy the most important relationships she has.
