It appears that France 3 is stepping away from the British crime series for its Sunday night. Instead, we’ll have a Swedish detective series with Commander Bäckström, the first season of which starts tonight at 9:05 pm.
A new adaptation of the novels of Leif G.W. Persson which was developed by the Swedish Jonathan Sjöberg, Commander Bäckström has recently been renewed for a season 2 and will then continue beyond its first 6 episodes with a new investigation.
This second adaptation (the first was American with Rainn Wilson in the leading role in 2015) thus offers us to follow Commander Evert Bäckström (Kjell Bergqvist). He is a brilliant and high-profile police officer. He finds himself investigating after the discovery, on a desert island, of a human skull pierced by a bullet.
