The sixth installment is yet to air after production was delayed due to the pandemic. But many fans are more excited for the recently announced Season 7 of Outlander. Here’s what you need to know about Caitriona Balfe’s and Sam Heughan’s drama series.
Outlander Season 7 Synopsis
The television series, which will be based on Dianna Gabaldon’s seventh novel, An Echo in the Bone, will feature 12 episodes. Showrunner Matt Roberts said:
“We are very happy that Starz allowed us to continue Outlander’s epic journey, adding that they were eager to enter ‘the writers’ room and start breaking Echo in the Bone’ to offer fans another exhilarating story.“
On her website, the award-winning author recaps the main storylines of the book as follows:
“Jamie and Claire Fraser are now in the midst of the American Revolution. Their daughter Brianna, her husband Roger MacKenzie, and their two children settled in Lallybroch in the 1970s ′ (they are finding their marks after returning from the past – but are unaware that this past is about to blow their minds away. new above). Lord John Gray and his stepson William (Jamie’s unrecognized illegitimate son) are involved in the Revolution on the British side, William in the military, and Lord John in the Underground Intelligence. Casting Outlander season 7
There is no confirmation yet as to who will be back for the seventh season. But, certainly, actor Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser), Caitriona Balfe (Claire Randall Fraser), Richard Rankin (Roger Wakefield), and Sophie Skelton (Brianna Randall) will reprise their roles.
Outlander Season 7 release date
Starz has announced that the historical drama Outlander will return for its seventh season ahead of Season 6 airing. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, series creator Ronald Moore said that “conversations are ongoing at the time. for the seventh season and a spin-off ”.
Moore added, “I think we’re going to have some good news on both fronts shortly, so I’m very optimistic about that. I admit I would have been happy for it to happen sooner than that, but it all comes in due time. I think those two things are probably going to happen and I hope we can talk about them before long. ”
The Outlander spinoff series
While no release date has yet been confirmed, fans can just watch the documentary Outlander which features the show’s cast and the beautiful scenery of the Scottish Highlands. Men in Kilts follows the journey of Sam Heughan and his former co-star, Graham McTavish, across Scotland to showcase the country’s hidden gems and culture. Watch the official trailer below:

The epic adventure, which first aired on Starz in February 2021, is sure to be a staple while we wait for new episodes of the century-old time-traveling TV series Outlander. Currently, Heughan and the rest of the cast are filming the sixth season of the drama series in Scotland.
