DID BILLY KILL ERIN?
That’s what it seems, right? After all, Billy’s father witnessed the murder and saw him covered in blood. He and Erin are known to have had an incestuous affair and are likely DJ’s dad. Billy finally admitted to his brother John that he had murdered Erin. There are two reasons why we believe it is possible that Billy Ross was trapped for Erin’s murder. The first relates to what Jess revealed in Erin’s diary …
The second? The strange way John Ross seemed to speak for his brother throughout the episode. When John confronts Billy, upset, about the murder, he urges him to say that he killed Erin. Look at the scene again. Although it is assumed that Billy raped Erin, it could be John. After all, the necklace she received was bought by someone simply called “Ross.” It doesn’t prove it was Billy or John.
WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM EPISODE 7?
In Episode 6, the series presents Billy as the actual culprit, but, likely, John is only manipulating his brother to exonerate himself. If Billy is the killer, why does Dylan go to such lengths to cover his tracks? Why are Jess and Dylan burning Erin’s diaries, and what’s in the photo Jess gives to the police chief?
Mare’s emotional upheaval could also be addressed in Episode 7. Since Siobhan, under the influence of alcohol, had a real emotional outburst over Kevin’s death, the Sheehans likely introspect and finally begin to deal with the pain Kevin’s suicide has caused them. On that note, we might also learn more about the custody battle.
As mentioned in Episode 6, the lawyers believe Carrie will be the one to retain custody of Drew. It may well be that Mare chooses to come to terms with Carrie once and for all, for Drew’s sake and hers. Siobhan’s admission to a college outside of Easttown could also be explored further.
