TikTok is launching a new feature, Jumps. This feature allows content creators to add additional content to their videos.
Social network TikTok launches a new feature allowing creators to integrate “mini-apps” and services to enhance their videos. TikTok Jump is a new way for creators to share engaging and informative content on TikTok.
What is TikTok Jump?
With the new TikTok Jump feature, content creators will be able to enrich the videos they produce. Indeed, they will be able to integrate mini-applications and services in the form of links. Thus, the public will be able to interact with these links.
For example, when someone interacts with a link, it opens a floating window that will appear above the video that is playing.
TikTok first had to partner with several collaborators to launch its new feature. Indeed, Whisk, Breathwork, Wikipedia, Quizlet, StatMuse, and Tabelog have each created practical and informative jumps that allow TikTok Jump to exist. So content creators can share cooking recipes, breathing exercises, stats, and more.
With these new elements, users will see their experience extended by accessing additional content. Integration in the current model of TikTok is impossible. Thus, using the Jumps, the user will be able, for example, to access the cooking recipe that he is currently viewing.
Other collaborators to come
Nick Holzherr, Head of Whisk said “We are delighted to be a premier partner in TikTok Jump“
“Since launching a limited beta earlier this year, TikTok and Whisk have helped solve a long-standing problem recipe makers face: how to enable TikTok users to view and save the full content of the recipe. Not only are the creators of TikTok using Whisk to add recipes previously published online; they also share unique TikTok recipes that aren’t found anywhere else. “
In the coming weeks, more services are expected to be added to the TikTok Jump feature. Indeed, applications like Jumprope, IRL, BuzzFeed, or even WATCHA should focus their service on the new functionality of TikTok.
It must be said that most of these third-party applications and services will benefit from the popularity of TikTok.
In addition, to be sure of the sustainability of this function, TikTok opens its program to third-party applications and services capable of offering attractive experiences. TikTok Jumps mainly use HTML5 and are designed to be easy to develop and deploy.
TikTok says it looks forward to working with selected suppliers to create ever more innovative Jumps.
