The new HTC Vive Focus 3 will be the new virtual reality headset dedicated to businesses. The latter will arrive with very interesting features from the end of June.
In a press release, the Taiwanese manufacturer HTC announces that its latest headset dedicated to businesses, the Vive Focus 3 is now available for pre-order in Europe. Announced last May at Vivecon 2021, this new virtual reality headset for businesses seems to offer attractive features. Even more, according to HTC, it will mark a turning point incorporating VR.
The technical characteristics of the Vive Focus 3
The Vive Focus 3 has several high-end features. Its LCD screen and Fresnel lenses offer a 5K resolution (4896 x 2448 pixels). A resolution is divided into two parts, i.e. 2.5k per eye (2448 x 2448 pixels). Image quality far superior to other headsets on the market. In addition to high-end resolution, it features a 120-degree field of view with a 90Hz refresh rate.
In terms of performance, the HTC Vive Focus 3 features a chip optimized for VR headsets, the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2. A chip that is accompanied by 8 GB of RAM and storage space of 128 GB is still expandable via a microSD card up to 2 TB. HTC has also mastered the cooling part very well, which can still be improved on other headsets on the market.
Level grip, the device runs under an operating system designed by HTC and called Vive Reality 2.0. This makes the menu clear and allows professionals who have never used VR to use it easily.
As for the controllers of the Vive Focus 3, they have been completely redesigned. HTC has ditched ultrasonic controllers. These are all new devices, equipped with four cameras that allow infrared tracking. Rechargeable via a USB port, they have a battery life of 15 hours from a full charge.
Regarding the helmet, its frame benefits from a high-performance magnesium-based alloy which allows it to be 20% lighter than its predecessor. However, this lightness does not prevent it from being five times stronger. Professionals can enjoy immersive 3D spatial sound thanks to its angled speakers.
A helmet for professionals
Available for pre-order, the HTC Vive Focus 3 will be officially released on June 24 at 1,416 euros including tax. A price that is justified by the fact that the device is intended for professionals and that it has high-end features. Upon purchase, professionals benefit from a two-year commercial warranty as well as Vive Business service.
Jointly with the launch of the Vive Focus 3, HTC is providing features exclusively dedicated to professionals. A new Vive Business professional app store. A device management solution (Mobile Device Management) or even Vive Sync a virtual meeting solution. And finally, VIVE Business Streaming, a platform for connecting the headset to a PC, and Vive Business Training allow trainers to follow the progress of employees using an Android device.
