Biohackers season 2: the German series is back on Netflix

Biohackers, the German Netflix series combining thriller and science fiction, made a splash on the streaming platform during the broadcast of the first season. The 6 episodes ended on a big cliffhanger, leaving us hungry. Season 2 of Biohackers will be available from July 9 on Netflix. Let's take a tour of what awaits us in the new episodes.

The core cast members are anticipated to return for season 2 of Biohackers. Emma "Mia Akerlund" Engels will be played by Luna Wedler, while Professor Tanja Lorenz will be played by Jessica Schwarz. We also expect to see Thomas Prenn as Niklas, Adrian Julius Tillmann as Jasper, Zeynep Bozbay as Petra Eller, and Caro Cult as Lotta. While nothing has been confirmed yet, we may also see some new faces for the new season.

Regarding the plot, Biohackers follows Emma and a group of awesome students from a German university who find themselves embroiled in powerful but dangerous biohacking technology.

Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger. Although Emma did not die in Season 1, she finds herself in an extremely difficult situation. After proving that Professor Tanja Lorenz is responsible for the illegal genetic experiments, Emma fell into the trap after trusting Dr. Andreas Winter. The former scientist and now Stanford Quarterly reporter has a much more sinister plan for the research of Emma and Lorenz.

According to Netflix's official synopsis for season 2 of the sci-fi series, after Mia's kidnapping, she finds herself with no memory of what happened. However, she discovers a message she wrote to her future self. From this message, Mia discovers that her life is in imminent danger if she does not solve the mystery of her disappearance.

To do this, Mia must team up with the woman she least trusts, Professor Lorenz. It seems his former opponent knows more and is the only one who can help him learn the truth. However, can the two women trust each other after all that has happened?

Netflix executive Rachel Eggebeen has already confirmed that we could see Emma and Lorenz continue the story in Season 2.

Given the overwhelmingly positive reception given to the first season, we are delighted to embark on a new season of Biohackers with Christian Ditter, Claussen + Putz, and the two outstanding actresses, Luna Wedler and Jessica Schwarz, in the lead roles.

As a reminder, season 2 of Biohackers will be broadcast on Netflix from Friday, July 9, 2021, at 9:01 a.m. while season 1 is still available on the streaming platform.
