WHAT IS THE RELEASE DATE FOR THE MIRE SEASON 3 ON NETFLIX?
The 6-episode second season was released on July 7, 2021, on Netflix. Currently, no renewal announcements have been made for Season 3 of The Mire on Netflix. Writers Kasper Bajon and Jan Holoubek are already considering the possibility of a sequel though, which is a good sign. Critics and popularity of the series are also green, which means there’s a good chance Season 3 of The Mire will see the light of day soon.
Season 2 also ends in a way that leaves the door open to multiple possibilities for continuing the story arc. Despite a nearly three-year gap between the first two seasons, it’s obvious The Mire has found its way onto Netflix. If it is renewed soon, we believe that the release date of Season 3 of The Mire should be set for the end of 2022 or 2023 on Netflix!
WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM THE FOLLOWING?
Season 2 ends with the cunning and murderous prosecutor brought to justice, and Piotr barely comes out of it. Witold finally begins writing about the dark secrets of the surrounding forest and opens up about his decades-long relationship with Else Koepke, whom he now seeks to find. Finally, Piotr and his wife Teresa decide to end their relationship, as they realize that neither of them is happy in their marriage.
Season 3 of The Mire will most likely make another big-time jump and be based on another era in Polish history. The following season could take place somewhere in the 21st century and will likely feature an intriguing murder around the sinister Grunty Forest. It could also very well play out during the COVID-19 pandemic, which would form the dark and turbulent backdrop that is the signature of the series.
It’s also possible that we are treated to some flashbacks of the war in Season 3. Of course, one of the most anticipated points of the series is Witold’s reunion with his wartime girlfriend, Else!
