But if you’re looking for an explanation of what happened in the Season 3 finale, we’ve taken you through all the twists and turns, piece by piece. Between what will happen to Hope and the theories about Mel’s baby bomb, here’s the explanation for the ending of Virgin River Season 3.
VIRGIN RIVER SEASON 3 END EXPLANATION
One of the main points of the third season is the mystery of the identity of who shot Jack. Given the chilling nature of the event, it’s no surprise that Jack has no recollection of what happened for much of the season. Nonetheless, in the finale, Brady is arrested after the police find the gun that was probably used to shoot Jack in the first car’s car.
Virgin River Season 3 also strives to show Brady trying to change his life. He made his business legal and even tries to make Brie happy. Mike and Brady, on the other hand, have a chat in which the latter appears to be innocent. If there’s anyone we should be wary of, it’s Mike. Subtle but fiery red flags have been placed throughout the season to indicate that the cop is dirtier than we are led to believe.
As season three signs of progress, Mike stops being portrayed as that straight guy, and for this reason, we believe he was the one who placed the gun in Brady’s car, and as a result, is the person who shot Jack. Why Mike did this is, for now, beyond our reach, but it is highly likely that Mike was paid by Calvin and that the drug business and Jack’s opposition to it led to that specific sequence of events that unfolded that night.
WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU PREACHING?
After taking care of Christopher all season for Paige while she’s on the run, Preacher has a big problem. He thinks he’s found a friend of Paige’s, who tells him she’s going to take him out to talk to Paige. Unfortunately, she is playing with him. A preacher finds himself drugged and abandoned in the woods.
Back home, Connie brings Christopher back with a pizza, and the viewer spots Vince, Paige’s ex-husband, waiting in the shadows. It’s clear he has ulterior motives and foolproof plans to kidnap Christopher, and Preacher has been caught in the crossfire. Hopefully, this doesn’t interfere with her plans to partner with Jack.
Paige wanting to surrender to the authorities becomes all the more imminent to get Preacher out of the equation. So when we see Wes in the house as Christopher and Connie enter, it becomes clear that Paige’s friend stabbed the mother in the back. The preacher is most likely going to have to fight an uphill battle to get Christopher back.
WHAT ABOUT DOC?
A hiker arrives in town and settles in a B&B. He’s looking for his grandfather… Doc. Meanwhile, Doc is in the hospital. Muriel is there to comfort him because he is not well. She reveals a blanket to him with photos of Doc and Hope taken by the community. The doctor reveals that Hope has a fever. Muriel assures Doc that everything will be fine, but Doc sobs, blaming the situation on himself.
After all, we don’t learn much about this affair, and Doc and Hope are still in each other’s lives despite it. It is entirely plausible that Charmaine’s mother never told Doc about the unexpected pregnancy and that she kept everything a secret. There would have been no way for the doctor to find out that he had one or more children of his own.
