WHAT IS THE GOOD GIRLS SEASON 5 RELEASE ON NETFLIX?
Season 4 of Good Girls premiered on March 7, 2021, and the season ended on July 22, 2021, on NBC. The fourth season has 16 episodes. Season 4 premiered in full on August 31 on Netflix.
On June 25, 2021, NBC announced it was ending the crime comedy series. It was also clarified that the bosses are not looking to sell the series to other networks or streaming platforms. According to some sources, it was planned to complete the series with a fifth and final season, but this project did not come to fruition.
Another option was to upload the series to Netflix, given the massive viewership it attracted to the streamer, but that didn’t work either. Audience and viewership numbers have dropped dramatically on NBC, forcing the network to cut losses. The linear performance of a series carries a lot of weight when it comes to considering renewals.
Another reason why things wouldn’t have worked out is that Netflix should have incurred more production costs. Stars Christina Hendricks (Beth), Retta (Ruby), and Mae Whitman (Annie) even agreed to cut their pay for the final season. But Manny Montana (Rio) was apparently not happy with the lower pay.>
For four seasons, fans have seen Beth and Rio shine onscreen. But the real-life equation between actors Hendricks and Montana might not be entirely smooth. However, the stars did not comment directly on the matter. Regardless, it has been confirmed that Season 5 of Good Girls is officially canceled.
