The movie was released on August 25, 2021, on Netflix. The director himself has said that the response from viewers and/or other circumstances will determine the fate of the sequel, but the writer went on to call The Old Ways a “stand-alone” project. The Old Ways has been fairly well-received by audiences, which hints at the possibility of The Old Ways 2.
