The Witcher: Nightmare of The Wolf: There is a season 3 on Netflix!

Netflix has announced the return of Geralt of Rivia for December 17th with season 2 of The Witcher. Before that, the streaming service offers us to return to this fantasy universe with the help of an animated which also serves as a prequel to the series, The Witcher: Nightmare of The Wolf, which is now available on the platform.

What is The Witcher: Nightmare of The Wolf?

As a reminder, The Witcher: Nightmare of The Wolf is based on the successful fantasy saga Witcher written by Andrzej Sapkowski and takes place in a world where humans, elves, wizards, gnomes, and monsters fight to survive and prosper, and where the good and evil struggle to differentiate themselves. We then follow Geralt de Riv, a witcher (or witcher), that is to say, a monster slayer, physically trained from an early age and having undergone genetic mutations giving him supernatural abilities.

Written by Beau DeMayo, The Witcher: Nightmare of The Wolf'stells us about an adventure of Geralt's mentor, namely Vesemir when the latter is a reckless young witcher who flees poverty by killing monsters to fill his purse.

But when a strange new creature begins to terrorize a politically torn kingdom, Vesemir finds himself embroiled in a nightmarish adventure that teaches him that some missions aren't just about money. He will then be forced to confront the demons of his own past.

The cast of The Witcher: Nightmare of The Wolf

Theo James (Sanditon) lends his voice to young Vesemir in this Japanese animated film, while actor Kim Bodnia will play the character in season 2 of the mother series. Around Theo James, we will have here Graham McTavish (Deglan), Lara Pulver (Tetra Gilcrest), or even Mary McDonnell (Dame Zerbst).

A season 3 for The Witcher?

Naturally, after The Witcher: Nightmare of The Wolf, Netflix will put season 2 of The Witcher online next December. What future then for this fantasy universe? The platform has yet to formalize Season 3, but it is reportedly already in the works.

Add to this that Netflix has another prequel in store for us, this time live, entitled The Witcher: Blood Origin in which we will also find Michelle Yeoh.
