Sex Education season 4

Sex Education puts Moordale High School students front and center as they explore their emerging sexuality. The unofficial "sex clinic" of her sixth-grade classmates Otis and Maeve begins a positive sexual revolution that makes students experiment and school administrators feel decidedly nervous. Season 3 follows one of the most tumultuous years yet, with the school adopting harsh disciplinary practices to curb the teens, and frightening and permanent changes appear to be taking effect.

Fans of the show are eagerly waiting to see what happens next. As much as we would like, can we hope to see Moordale and his eccentric entourage again? Here's everything we know about Sex Education Season 4.

Sex Education Season 4 Release Date

Season 3 of Sex Education premiered on September 17, 2021, on Netflix. The entire season of 8 episodes, each approximately 50 minutes long, airs simultaneously all over the world.

As for Season 4, there has been no official report as to whether it was enlightened or not. However, given that Season 3 was released recently, we can still expect some great news from Netflix in the months to come. The renewal of subsequent seasons of the show was announced approximately one month after the premiere date of the previous seasons (Season 2 premiered on January 17, 2020, and Season 3 was announced on February 10, 2020). Split time is probably used by the streaming platform to gauge the audience for the most recent season of the series.

Considering the sheer number of global fans and the rave reviews that Sex Education has garnered over the years, there's a good chance its viewership for Season 3 will be stellar. What cannot be ignored, however, are the major plot twists that take effect in the Season 3 finale, which strongly hints that a potential Season 4 will see significant changes to its storyline.

In an interview, Asa Butterfield, who plays the show's central character, Otis, confirmed the ambiguity about the potential for an upcoming season, saying:

“I would love to do a fourth season because we're having so much fun on this show. At the same time, we've been doing it for three years now, and I'd be happy to say goodbye to these characters… We'll have to see.

Asa also mentioned that a well-thought-out spin-off of the series might be a good idea, but what he would really like would be a Christmas Sex Education movie. Who wouldn't!

If the series gets the green light for another season soon and production runs smoothly, we can expect to see Season 4 of Sex Education near the end of 2022.

Sex Education Season 4 Casting

Season 3 features all the characters we know and love, including Otis (Asa Butterfield), his mother Jean (Gillian Anderson), Eric (Ncuti Gatwa), Maeve (Emma Mackey), Adam (Connor Swindells), Jackson (Kedar Williams) -Stirling), Aimee (Aimee Lou Wood), Mr. Groff (Alistair Petrie), Lily (Tanya Reynolds) and Ola (Patricia Allison). Supporting characters include Jakob (Mikael Persbrandt), Colin (Jim Howick), Ruby (Mimi Keene), Steve (Chris Jenks), Anwar (Chaneil Kular), Emily (Rakhee Thakrar), Maureen (Samantha Spiro), Rahim (Sami Outalbali) )), Viv (Chinenye Ezeudu) and Erin (Anne-Marie Duff), Maeve's mother.

A potential Season 4 will likely have all of the mentioned cast members reprising their roles, and we can also expect to see a few new cast members join the show's extensive roster.

Sex Education season 4 plot

Season 3 finds Moordale High School under a new principal, who quickly institutes tough new dress codes and paints the school a dark gray (literally and figuratively). However, students perpetuate their school's positive sexual culture and defend it even when threatened. Their calls for a safe environment where they can explore their bodies and sexuality without being humiliated are spreading and leading to protests in schools across the country.

However, Moordale’s investors stop funding the school, causing its students to say their school will be closed. Maeve gets last-minute financial aid from her mother and, in the closing scenes of Season 3, leaves for a college program in the United States after saying goodbye to Otis.

Sex Education season 4

A potential Season 4 will likely see Maeve return at some point, but we can expect to see her in a new avatar that's possibly Americanized. Her willpower dynamic with Otis also spans three seasons, and as enticing as it is, we can expect her to be suitably altered, with one of them likely being in a strong relationship. Otis’s family life will also be significantly different with the introduction of his little sister, Joy, to whom Jean gives birth at the end of Season 3.

The potential Season 4 could even take place after a big-time jump, with Moordale’s students now in college and possibly meeting for the summer in their hometown. Of course, with the school on the verge of closing and Maeve moving away, any future iteration of the show will take on a decidedly different format. The only thing we can be sure of is that the central characters and their carnal experiences will always be entertaining.
