But the big question around Season 4 has nothing to do with cliffhangers or betrayals and everything to do with the show itself. To discover the explanation of the ending of Part 1, read this. Otherwise, if you want to know more about Ben, we tell you everything!

WHO IS BEN?
Wendy’s brother, Ben Davis, arrives at the Byrde family home after being fired from his job as a substitute teacher for overreacting to a situation on campus. Despite the fact that Ben left his family at a young age, he and Wendy enjoy spending time together.
Wendy, on the other hand, has seen firsthand how unstable Ben can be. In a fit of rage, he confronts Navarro’s attorney, Helen Pierce, and informs his young daughter, Erin, that her mother is a member of the Navarro Cartel.
IS HE DEAD? WHO KILLED HIM?
Wendy abandons her brother at a highway diner and drives off in a fog of grief, after telling Nelson where Ben is. Nelson then arrives at the Byrdes’ funeral home with a body that is promptly cremated, and Marty brings back a box of ashes. When he talks to Wendy, all she asks him is if the ashes are heavy.
It seems that Ben is put to death by the cartel killer because he was handicapped, and, tragically, it is his sister who abandons him. Ben’s death comes back to haunt the Byrde family several times in Season 4 but, perhaps more importantly, it shows us an even darker side to Wendy Byrde.
Since we don’t see Ben’s corpse, there is reason to believe that he is alive and the cremated body maybe someone else. However, Nelson is a staunch supporter of the cartel and has never shown any reason not to follow a direct order. It is therefore unlikely that he will side with the Byrdes and allow Ben to escape by swapping the body.
