GET EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT: DOCTOR WHO!
The next Doctor Who special, “Legend of the Sea Devils,” will air on Easter Sunday, and it’s significant for a number of reasons. For starters, it’ll be a chance to see some monsters with deep ties to the franchise’s past. In addition, this is Jodie Whittaker’s final story as The Doctor! Of course, there’s a lot to look forward to here, particularly on the Yaz front, following her admission of feelings earlier this year.
Of course, getting a lot of super-specific teases for what’s to come will be difficult, but Mandip Gill herself makes it clear in an interview with the Radio Times that there will be plenty of exciting and emotional moments to come:
“I’m very pleased with this one. I’m really looking forward to seeing it. Chris [Chibnall] is a master at creating characters and conveying emotion, and we see that. It’s huge. Like, the sets were incredible, the actors were incredible, the costumes and everything… that episode has so much heart.”
The actress also revealed that she suffered a finger injury while filming one action sequence:
“We have this incredible stunt planned, but they injured my finger, and I can’t get it out of my head!” Because of a Sea Devil, I actually hurt my finger. It’s not every day that you get to say something like that… ‘This sword is really heavy,’ I thought. And now my finger is hurting. ‘Should we come to a halt?’
Whatever happens here will, in the end, help to set the tone for Jodie’s big farewell, which we expect to take place later this year. Although there isn’t much specific information available at this time, we have a feeling it will be exciting.
