Get Everything you need to know about Yellowstone season 5!
We previously reported that filming for Yellowstone season 5 would begin at the end of May. We’ve arrived with further specifics!
Actor Forrie J. Smith (who plays Lloyd) just posted on Instagram that production on the current batch of episodes will begin around the middle of the month. This provides you a specific time frame to look forward to rather than the entire month.
We’re confident that when the cast and crew return, they’ll hit the ground running with some exciting, ambitious storylines about the ranch’s future. We already know that Season 5 will be structured differently than previous seasons. There will be two batches of episodes, increasing the total number of episodes to 14; the first half could air this summer! This allows the Paramount Network to air additional episodes of their top-rated show while also giving them a broader platform to promote other sections of the franchise. The success of 1883 demonstrated that there is still a need for more of this brand, which makes sense given the lack of popularity of Westerns in general.
With this filming start date in mind, we believe we’ll at least receive a few more teases as to what’s to come in early June… even if we shouldn’t expect too many significant spoilers. At the same least, unlike season 4, when there was a significant cliffhanger involving John, Kayce, and Beth, all of their futures were at risk, production doesn’t have to be as covert this time.
Hopefully, after the start of production, we’ll hear about a formal debut date – it’ll only give us something else to look forward to!
