EXPLANATION OF THE INCANTATION’S END
After Incantation, Ronan makes one final desperate attempt to save Dodo from the curse. She makes a video, which viewers see at the beginning of the movie.
The video explains the curse’s details and how to cast it. Meanwhile, flashbacks reveal the origins of the curse.
At the end of Incantation, it is clear that Ronan is deceiving his viewers in the video. The Mother Buddha, as revealed by the video recovered by Ming, is a deity of torment as well as suffering. In addition, the monk who tells Ronan about the curse says it can’t be broken.
It can only be mitigated by spreading the curse to more people. As a result, Ronan’s strategy becomes clear. She uses the video to curse more people in the hopes of diluting the curse.
Ronan realizes she must cover the deity’s face, but doing so will kill her. So she records a final message for her daughter and requests that Dodo forgets about her.
After being overcome by the curse’s powers, Ronan covers the deity’s face and commits suicide. According to a video, Ronan’s actions saved Dodo’s life. Dodo regains her life and health a happy life.
Ronan eventually gives up his life to save Dodo’s. Ronan leaves the entire truth about the cure in her video while tricking viewers into chanting the curse incantation. Dodo’s spell began years ago with Ronan’s misguided quest in the tunnel.
As a result, when Ronan returns to the tunnel, the curse no longer overwhelms him. However, Ronan does not return alive this time.
On the contrary, his actions demonstrate his love for Dodo as well as offer his daughter a new life free of the terrible curse.
