We know there’s a lot to be excited about when it arrives Yellowjackets season 2 is on Showtime, especially after so many Emmy nominations!
We recently learned that the series was nominated for a primetime award, as was Melanie Lynskey as well as Christina Ricci.
All of this sets the stage for more great content and potentially more viewers in the future. It could also have a big impact on what the network does for season 2.
Remember that award consideration is very important to networks. One of the reasons they spend so much money on “For Your Consideration” banners.
It’s a way to get people to watch the show in a way that doesn’t require them to pay for it directly.
People are immediately motivated to watch. We know that the show and its cast have received all of these nominations for season 1, and it stands to reason that Showtime would want something similar for season 2.
They need to find a location to get the show so many nominations for season 2, and also to keep this train of promotional events rolling. It believes it is critical that season 2 premieres before the beginning of June.
We believe Showtime wants it back much sooner, but this puts a time limit on when it could air.
There’s no reason to avoid next awards season if you have a show you believe is deserving, and based on what we’ve seen so far, Yellowjackets is that and more.
